Carrier Rules

This page is generated directly from the same structured rule configuration that powers every calculation on DimCheck — nothing here is hand-copied. Every value links to the official carrier documentation it was verified against.

Notes

  • DIM divisor changed from 166 to 139 on 2026-07-12; every dimension now rounds UP to the next whole inch.
  • DIM weight applies only when the rounded volume EXCEEDS 1,728 in³ (1 cubic foot).
  • DIM weight above 70 lb is priced at the 70-pound price (capped).
  • Ground Advantage and Parcel Select allow length + girth up to 130 in (with an oversized price above 108 in); Priority Mail and Priority Mail Express are limited to 108 in.
  • Only the highest nonstandard length/characteristics fee applies; the cubic-volume fee can be added to it.
  • USPS publishes imperial rules only; the metric divisor shown is the exact equivalent of 139 in³/lb.
  • DMM 223.1.4.3 (Priority Mail commercial, non-rectangular) still shows divisor 166 with round-off — a likely USPS drafting anomaly; DimCheck models rectangular packages with 139/round-up as published elsewhere in the DMM.
